Our classes.

What is taught, and how is it taught?

I’ve learned from my mentors that teaching is a craft, not a task. I’ve fallen in love with the artful diligence in the delivery of an idea, and it’s ability to transform another’s character alongside their physicality. It is like alchemy to me.

With that said, I do not purport the physiological benefits of training: Better body composition, stress relief, elevated mood, etc. For me to purport these benefits would be to mislead—these are not effects of my teaching, but the physiological side effects of being active. It’s speaks nothing to the uniqueness of how I present Martial Art.

I use philosophy and movement hierarchies to learn Muay Thai so as to ensure that our character and skill improve synchronistically. Philosophy allows me to package concepts in a way that fluidly conveys that sets up an understanding, in a fluid way—guiding a student to a destination, while allowing them to arrive in their own way.

Understanding one thing, should be a bridge to understanding the next thing. This is my tactic of teaching. That understanding a base movement pattern is simultaneously a setup to understand the next thing.

All movement operates in such a way. It is a hierarchy that if you learn in the right order, your improvement will be greatly expedited.
